Purple Gas is really all that. A deep purple bud that smells like a mix of pine and diesel. This hybrid strain is a cross between the BaOx strain and the Therapy Strain. BaOx is a Sativa dominant strain that has lineage from the infamous Hindu Kush, and also contributes to the purple coloring. Therapy strain is Indica dominant and counteracts the Sativa effects with more relaxing effects to create the perfect hybrid strain: Purple Gas.
Purple Gas is a plant that usually grows to around 4 feet high, and begins to flowers fast! Once flowering begins, it takes about 75 days to reach full maturity.
Look: By far one of the most attractive buds to look at. A deep purple throughout, mixed in with orange pistils. The trichomes reflect strongly off the dark background, completing this Cannabis masterpiece. This plant is high in Anthocyanins, which give plants a blue or purple look. This quality is also shared with blueberries, blackberries, eggplant, concord grapes, and violet petals.
Smell: The smell is a nice blend of the genetics of its parents. There are initial notes of a woodsy and piney smell that come from the BaOx genetics. There is also a slightly fruity and citrusy smell layered in as well that comes from its Therapy strain genetics. The Myrcene terpene is dominant in this strain, which provides the earthy and fruity aroma.
- Myrcene – earthy, fruity, musky
- Ocimene – sweet woodsy smell
- Caryophyllene – sharp, peppery, spicy aroma like black pepper and clove.
- Pinene – very refreshing and redolent of a pine forest.
Taste: Earthy and sweet smells translate nicely to the palate as well. The sweetness is primarily floral, with a slightly fruity undertone. The taste from start to finish is light, easy on the mouth and throat, with a floral after taste left on the palate.
