How smoking creates friends in new places
Share
Cannabis doesn’t only get you high. It can also open a new world of friends for you. Find out how today.
It’s an old story. You’re puffing somewhere, minding your own business. Somehow, a few hours later, you’re in the middle of a smoking circle, puffing and passing. You're talking about things that go from your favorite food to UFO sightings.
Most people I know have a story of meeting new people during a cannabis trip. Hell, I have a ton of stories like that.
But today, with technology, social media, and all that stuff, cannabis encounters have taken a whole new level.
And that’s what we will cover today.
Can smoking cannabis help you meet new people?

For introverted people, cannabis can be an aid when it comes to ditching inhibitions in the name of socialization. Many people who suffer from social anxiety or are just shy can experience heightened self-confidence after smoking, vaping, or using cannabis in any way.
Extroverts, on the other hand, may not require using weed to face social situations. Nevertheless, cannabis can increase empathy, the feeling of being connected with others, and the sense of humor, while drastically decreasing the risks of fighting or arguing.
But, regardless you’re an introvert or an extrovert, meeting new people can sometimes feel challenging or make you anxious.
Cannabis helps you release stress, decrease anxiety, improve self-esteem and make you feel loose. These are all common issues when meeting new people, regardless of the field (professional, personal, etc.)
Marijuana also has the lovely particularity of creating a community.
Since cannabis is still stigmatized by many people, it’s very common that stoners are naturally drawn to establish relationships with people they feel reflected into. These people won’t judge them because they have the same habits.
When you meet another smoker, you don’t have to go through the annoying phase of explaining yourself and demonstrating that you’re not a nutjob just because you’re friends with Mary.

So, now that you know you can definitively get Mary’s help in your journey of meeting new people, you may be wondering:
“But, how can I do that?”
Fortunately for you, there are several ways you can do it:
Going to places
Obviously, with technology, it’s very common -and easy- to meet people online. But do not ditch the idea of just heading to town to see what’s happening.
The good old practice of going to regular or new places to meet new people is something still very useful. The face-to-face connection with others and getting the vibe of people's lives instead of through a screen can be really rewarding.
You can start by just visiting the places you already go to with your friends or by yourself and seeing the overall scene. You may find that the sites you regularly visit already have a community of stoners whom you could get together with.
If you’re a mousy-mouse stoner who keeps it private, you can ask at your regular cannabis store about places they recommend to freely smoke, and maybe meet people. They will probably know about many places where stoners reunite like parks, cafes, etc.
Searching the web
The world wide web has a massive amount of information to offer when it comes to pretty much any question you have in mind, and weed is no exception.
Just using your search bar will get you a bunch of ideas on how to meet new people around.
You can find several cannabis forums, groups, digital communities, and other 2.0 spaces where you can get in touch with people who share your Ganjah passion and want to make new friends or lovers.
In spaces like Reddit you can find large cannabis lovers communities where you find friends, relationships, business, and pretty much anything cannabis related.
Other websites you can check to find new places and friends to smoke are Grasscity, 420 Magazine, Roll it Up, Strain Hunters, and many others.
You can find communities for anything cannabis: growing, testing, selling, smoking…there is something for everybody.
Using your mobile
Talking about the web and mobiles is two different things now. There are things you find on your phone that you could not find on your regular computer.
Apps like Instagram are specifically created to be used on mobile because life is on the go these days.
Likewise, today, you can find mobile apps that allow you to connect with cannabis users all over the world.
Whether you want to travel across the world to discover new places where cannabis is loved, or you just want to meet someone new in the local grow shop, these apps will help you make it happen.
You can find apps to make friends like Duby, which is like Facebook if all your contacts were high and proud all the time. On this app, you can proudly share all your cannabis-related content with the people of your choice.
Another friend app you can find for your Android or IOS device is Weed Life.
If you’re looking to find that special someone to puff and pass till death do you part, the offer is even more extensive.
There’s nothing worst than having to break up with someone special because they judge your cannabis consumption. Weed-friendly dating apps take the hassle away, so you won’t need to have any uncomfortable conversations…yet.
One of the most popular ones is Match, and although this is not a per se weed smokers dating site, it does allow you to filter your prospects, so you only connect with potheads like you.
But if you don’t want to filter and just enter a 100% weed-based dating site, apps like High There can get you where you want.
Although they’re sort of shifting to a more community-like interface, this app is more known as a dating site for Mary Jane lovers. Working in a similar way to Tinder, you can sort through thousands of people and choose people to say hi to.
Other popular dating apps to find your significant smoker are 420 Singles and Date 420 Friendly.
But if you’re just naughty and are looking only to smoke ‘n’ poke, you can do just that.
And I’m not kidding. There’s literally a Smoke and Poke app and website where you can find weed users like you to hook up no strings attached.
This space is designed especially for people who love having sex as much as smoking weed. You can find people who enjoy using marijuana before, during, or after sex, talk privately and, if everything works out, have a time to remember.
And this is not the only one. Adult websites such as Adult Friend Finder, and Plenty of Fish have filters to find a 420-friendly one-night stand. And webs like IHook Up are entering the digital Hooking Up world, cannabis included.

A web search engine can take you a long way. You can find answers to questions such as the best places to smoke pot or where’s the best place to smoke weed publically.
But you’re not here to read me say go ask Google, so let’s dive a little more into this.
If you have a medical recipe for marijuana, you will find very handy websites and apps like Weedmaps or Vana. These apps may not take you far, far away, but they will let you discover more dispensaries than you ever thought.

Things to do with friends when you smoke

New friends and new places. But, what to do with them?
Let me offer you a few ideas to have the best time with your new friends or at your new places:
With new friends
Go to the movies
Smoking weed before seeing a movie will enhance your experience on many levels. I personally recommend watching fun or horror movies for an extra boost of fun. But, believe me, any genre will do.
You’ll be able to laugh, cry, share thoughts, and more with your friends at the movies. Just remember there are other people at the movies, so try to keep it quiet.
Play video games
What about a battle between realms, hardcore fighting in an arena or just jumping around?
When you play video games under Mary’s charm, you'll have twice the fun and less competition, so you won’t get all bitter when you lose.
And face it, it will happen once or twice.
Have a party
If smoking already feels like a party, all you need is to play music, add drinks and snacks to make it a real one!
A good party can take anything from two to a thousand people. Music, drinks, food, and VIP guest, Mary Jane is all it takes to have an outstanding moment.
Look at the sky
Have you taken a moment to just look at the night sky when you’re high? There’s something amazing about the sky in regular conditions. But when you’re stoned, it’s a whole other story.
The stars look brighter, and it seems like there are tons of them instead of just a few.
Plus, when you’re high, you feel more connected to the earth and space, realizing the oneness that joins us all.
You’ll have great talks and get into deep conversations with your buddies.
At new places
Check out the entertainment scene
When in cannabis-friendly destinations, visiting entertainment places is a must.
Theaters, squares, parks, bars, museums, and other cultural and entertaining places can give you a feel of what your destination is all about.
Try the drinks, take lots of photos, buy a souvenir, and enjoy the feeling of discovering new places.
And yes, meet people too.
Visit restaurants
Tasting a city's signature dishes means getting a bite of its culture, values, and soul.
Visit the restaurants, the small and the large ones. Visit those little neighborhood dinners that look kind of fishy, and you will discover the real flavors that locals love to have time and time again.
If you’re lucky enough, you will probably find cannabis-related restaurants or recipes that you can enjoy. But if not, to enhance your experience, don’t forget to get a duby before you go eating for an out-of-the-world taste experience.
Go see a movie
Going stoned to see a movie by yourself is just as good as going with friends. And you will probably annoy people a lot less.
Get yourself a bucket of popcorn, a large soda, and why not? Some cannabis edibles to really dive into the movie to feel in the skin of the police officer, the sexy waitress, or sponge bob, whatever makes you tick.
Compare watching a movie by yourself with and without smoking: you’ll prefer the stoned version every single time.
Visit cannabis stores
You have not properly visited a cannabis-friendly destination if you don’t go to the weed stores in your location.
I mean, gummies, brownies, different strains, flavored rolling papers, oils, ointments, pipes, bongs… it’s heaven on earth!
Cannabis stores make us believe in an upcoming world where we will be able to stop anywhere to buy our precious ganjah. It’s always a beautiful picture to see.
The only problem you’ll have after visiting a cannabis store is buying too much stuff.
So now we hope you have some good ideas to meet new people and discover new places.
